Dr. Maurice Willis received his MD degree from Morehouse School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia in 1995.  He completed his internship and residency at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas in 1998.  He then went into private practice for 6 years in General Internal Medicine to fulfill his National Health Service Corps Commitment.  In 2006, Dr. Willis returned to the University of Texas Medical Branch to complete a Fellowship in Medical Oncology.  Dr. Willis joined the faculty at UTMB upon completion of his fellowship.  Dr. Willis is board certified in Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology.  He is the Assistant Director of the Hematology/Oncology Clinic and is on the Internal Medicine Quality Assurance Committee.  His clinical interests are lung and prostate cancers, to which, he is the principle investigator on several clinical trials involving lung cancer.
